At Novonesis, we are building the next generation of Global Quality Control (GQC) laboratories. Within Global Assay Innovation and Automation, Global LIMS, Automation & Digitalization drives the development and implementation of digital, automated, and data-driven solutions across enzyme, microbial, chemical, and physical analysis methods.

You will become part of a multidisciplinary department of 25+ colleagues where scientific expertise meets digitalization, automation, and data. The role & your impact As our new Scientist, you will help challenge traditional ways of working and develop intelligent laboratory solutions that can shape QC in the years to come. You will translate laboratory needs into practical technology solutions and contribute to more automated, aligned, and future-ready workflows across our global QC laboratories.

Your key responsibilities in this role

Design and implement technology solutions across Novonesis’ GQC laboratories. Align and optimize the use of instruments and technology platforms across laboratories. Drive automation projects and help develop sustainable, future-ready laboratory workflows. Translate operational laboratory needs into effective automated workflows and solutions. Support compliance in digital systems, including software and instrument validation. Take ownership of implemented solutions by providing the necessary support, maintenance, and updates.

What you’ll need to be successful in this role We are looking for someone who combines scientific understanding with a genuine interest in laboratory technology, data, and automation and:

Holds an MSc or PhD in microbiology, natural sciences, engineering, data science, or a related field. Has a strong interest in laboratory technology, data, and automation. Is comfortable communicating and collaborating in English. Builds strong stakeholder relationships and follows through on commitments. Has project management skills and can drive change in a structured way. Is culturally aware, adaptable, and curious. Takes ownership of the solutions you build, including their ongoing support and development.

Additional skills & interests we value It would be an advantage if you bring one or more of the following:

Experience with laboratory workflows, documentation, and regulatory environments. A passion for technology, mechatronics, laboratory robotics, and automation platforms. Experience with programming, software development, and/or applying machine learning to develop data-driven solutions. Hands-on experience from regulated industries such as pharma or food. Experience with instrument integration. Familiarity with digital systems used in QC laboratory workflows. An appreciation for the value of strong documentation and structured ways of working.
