Strategy Consultant to Coop Trading A/S
Coop
Do you enjoy turning strategic ambitions into concrete results? Would you like to help shape the future of some of the Nordics' leading private brands? Then you might be the Strategy Consultant we are looking for.
As a Strategy Consultant, you will play a key role in moving our From Good to Great strategy forward. Working at the intersection of strategy, transformation and commercial development, you will help shape and deliver initiatives that create real impact across the business.
You will be part of our newly created Strategy and Business Development team, reporting to the General Manager working closely with colleagues across the organisation, including Procurement, Supply Chain, Design Development, Quality and PMO, while also collaborating directly with our CEO, Senior Leadership Team and Nordic Partners.
Key responsibilities: The role covers a broad range of responsibilities, including: • Manage key value streams within larger transformation programmes with responsibility for the plan, deliverables and realised benefits • Run smaller strategic projects end-to-end, from scoping through implementation and handover to the organisation • Structure ambiguous strategic questions into hypotheses, analyses and decision-ready recommendations for the CEO and Senior Leadership Team • Build business cases and financial models to support prioritisation, investment decisions and benefit tracking • Analyse category, supplier and price/value performance to support private brand and sourcing decisions • Identify and assess new business opportunities and strategic partnerships
To thrive in this role, we imagine that you: • Have a relevant master’s degree, for example in business, economics, finance, strategy or a related field • Have 2-4 years of experience in consulting or an in-house strategy, transformation or commercial function • Are a skilled problem solver, qualitatively and quantitatively, including financial modelling and business cases • Have a solid business understanding of how strategy affects financial, operational and commercial performance • Have led a workstream or smaller project, managing your own plan, stakeholders and deliverables • Are highly proficient in PowerPoint and Excel and can produce executive-level material without heavy review • Have professional proficiency in English • Ideally have experience in retail, FMCG, sourcing, or private brands. Proficiency in a Nordic language is also a plus.
Personal competencies: You can take initiative and navigate circumstances where the path forward is not fully defined. In addition, you: • Are organised, strategic and commercially curious • Carry tasks through from beginning to end • Drive tasks forward from start to finish • Move easily between the bigger picture and operational details • Are pragmatic and focused on turning analysis into action and results • Build good relationships and communicate confidently with stakeholders at all levels
What we offer: • A company where people know one another well in the office and the culture is informal • At the same time, you will be part of a larger Nordic setup, working with our four partners in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland. So, while you will get to know your colleagues at our Vesterbro office well, you will build a broad network and collaborate with many different stakeholders across the Nordics • The opportunity to work closely with the business and help shape decisions • Develop both personally and professionally, learning from skilled colleagues and partners along the way • Be part of a purpose-driven company shaping the future of Nordic private brands for millions of consumers • A supportive and inclusive workplace culture that values your well-being and where you can be exactly who you are
