Your impact begins here
Join R&D Tech Delivery as an Interim Department Assistant, where you will help the VP and Leadership Team stay focused on the priorities that matter most. You will bring structure to a fast-moving environment, keep key leadership activities on track and take ownership of selected improvement initiatives. By turning complex input into clear actions, communications and decision-ready materials, you will help the team operate effectively and keep priorities moving forward.
This is an interim role from February to End August 2027.
What you’ll bring
You combine strong executive support skills with the confidence to take ownership, create structure and work effectively with senior stakeholders. You are comfortable moving between hands-on administrative tasks and broader operational activities.
To succeed in this role, you have: Experience as a Personal Assistant, Executive Assistant or in a comparable senior business-support role, with experience supporting senior stakeholders at VP level. Strong communication skills and the ability to create clear, high-quality presentations and executive-level materials. Strong execution and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple activities, follow through and bring structure to a fast-moving workload. Confidence to speak up, exercise discretion and handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately. Strong working knowledge of PowerPoint and experience using ChatGPT and Copilot in your work. Experience with Claude or similar tools as an advantage. Professional fluency in spoken and written English.
What you’ll do
Provide proactive executive support to the VP, managing priorities, meetings and a complex calendar while anticipating what is needed to keep work moving. Coordinate Leadership Team meetings and activities, including agendas, materials, decisions, actions and structured follow-up. Take ownership of selected operational projects and process-improvement initiatives, turning broad direction into clear actions and driving them through to completion. Create clear executive communications, presentations and decision materials, turning complex or incomplete input into concise, audience-focused messages. Work confidently across stakeholders, following up on priorities, identifying emerging issues and helping maintain momentum across concurrent activities. Support the practical running of the organisation through activities such as workforce coordination, onboarding and offboarding, procurement and maintaining relevant information structures.
Who you’ll work with
You will work closely with the VP of R&D Tech Delivery and the R&D Tech Delivery Leadership Team, becoming a trusted point of coordination across leadership activities and priorities. You will collaborate with Personal and Executive Assistants across the wider organisation as well as colleagues in HR, Finance, Procurement, IT and Facilities, alongside internal and external partners. The role sits within a large stakeholder environment, with the department comprising approximately 190 employees and 500 external consultants.
What you can expect here
You can expect a role where your contribution is visible and where you have the opportunity to bring structure, take ownership and help important work move forward. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will have room to use your judgement, contribute ideas and make an impact beyond day-to-day executive support.
You’ll join an environment where collaboration, curiosity and different perspectives are valued, with opportunities to contribute and develop while helping the organisation deliver on its priorities.
