Senior Portfolio Lead
Novo Nordisk
Job Title: Senior Portfolio Lead Department: R&D Portfolio & Forecasting Location: Soeborg, Denmark
Your impact begins here In this role, you will give R&D management a real-time view of portfolio and capacity across the whole R&D value chain. You will drive one uniform resource management system and turn complex data into clear conclusions leaders can act on. Your work brings transparency to resource allocation and speed to decisions, so R&D teams can focus their capacity where it matters most for people living with serious chronic diseases.
What you’ll bring
You combine strong analytical skills with a business mindset, and you are comfortable being a trusted partner to project teams and leaders. • A master’s degree in business, science, R&D or another relevant field. • A minimum of 6-7 years’ experience in data analysis, business analysis and/or portfolio management. • Proficiency with IT tools, especially Power BI, Excel and PowerPoint. • Fluent written and spoken English. • Strong business acumen and the ability to turn complex data into clear conclusions and easy-to-understand communication. • Stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build collaboration based on mutual trust with colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds. • A self-driven, analytical approach and the ability to work well in a dynamic global environment.
Desirable, but not essential:
• Experience from the pharmaceutical industry. • Experience building resource models and managing portfolios in large, complex organisations.
What you’ll do
You will help R&D move from looking back at the portfolio to managing it as it happens, and make sure management has the clarity to decide with confidence. • Enable real-time portfolio management across the entire R&D value chain. • Drive implementation of one uniform resource management system across R&D, improving decision-making efficiency, transparency in resource allocation and operational effectiveness. • Drive speed benchmarks across the R&D value chain to support the long-term R&D aspiration. • Create transparency and analysis that support management in informed decision-making. • Turn complex data into clear conclusions and easy-to-understand slides for leaders and project teams. • Work in cross-organisational projects and act as a value-adding portfolio partner to the R&D project organisation.
Who you’ll work with
You will join R&D Portfolio & Forecasting, a global function of 14 dedicated professionals that supports and collaborates with the global R&D organisation. The team works in a complex environment with many projects in the R&D portfolio, where transparency and in-depth analysis of portfolio, capacity and performance are critical. In Research & Development, colleagues explore scientific ideas and advance them towards clinical testing, bringing curiosity, data, technology and collaboration together. Your closest partners will be the R&D project organisation and management teams across the R&D value chain. Working with them, you will create clarity on priorities and capacity, and help decisions move forward at pace.
What you can expect here
You will work in a global environment where your analytical expertise is valued and your contribution is visible to management. Cross-organisational projects give you the chance to broaden your view of the R&D value chain and build new skills, and you will be trusted to take ownership and make your voice heard.
